Ronalda shares the vision she had experienced in one of those storms of life and headwinds that we all face. As I drew near to Jesus, He drew near to me. My creator knew what I needed at that moment. My heart was looking for peace. It was in the presence of Jesus flooding my car as I was driving, heading to my Favorite snack place.
Turning the corner while driving, she instantly felt the bright sun beaming down on her from above through the sunroof. At that moment, a pure sense of peace surrounded her. Suddenly, a vision appeared before Ronalda. In a flash, she saw Jesus swinging her around in the light and lifting her onto his shoulder. It was an incredible experience; even though Ronelda did not hear a word, she knew He was showing her his kingdom, where this peace would be forever. The song by Jason Gray called Sparrows was on the radio. Ronalda had never heard it before, but as she listened, she felt this was confirmation that the painting should have sparrows in it. "How lovely is your dwelling place, Lord Almighty! My soul yearns, even faints, for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh cry out for the living God. Even the sparrow has found a home and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may have her young— a place near your altar, Lord Almighty, my King, and my God. Blessed are those who dwell in your house; they are ever praising you." Psalm 84:1-4 NIV The painting reveals the playful, intimate times of Jesus lifting each one of us upon his shoulder to get a more excellent vision of the things to come. Sometimes, during the storms of life, our vision can become hazed over by life's winds and waves crashing against us. We have a promise that God will take us through it all, that the waters will not drown us, and the fire will not burn us. Isaiah 43:2 When we go through deep waters, He will be with us. When we go through rivers of difficulty, we will not drown. When we walk through the fire of oppression, we will not be burned up; the flames will not consume us when everything seems out of control. Our King lifts us upon his shoulder and shows us the power of his kingdom. This image portrays a kingdom without end. The young girl is raised upon the King's shoulder, giving a bird's eye view of the endless vastness of eternity. The ages of time swirl away as the kingdom of God is in focus. Ronelda and Barry
